The Lamp of God’s Word

In the past weeks, we have seen the plan and purpose ot God`s will for our lives and also the ability of his word to heal and to make us whole. For his word is his bond. Today we are looking at the light of God. The scripture tells us in Psalm 119 vs. 105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path “.

This world we are in is full ot darkness and confusion. The darkness and confusion of this world is slowly creeping into the body ot Christ, and many Christians who come to church and are involved in church activities are covered in darkness. This is because alot ot us have strayed away from the lamp of the word ot God which he has given to illuminate our path and dispel the confusion ot the world from our hearts. Without God-s word in your heart you will have no direction in life and because there is no light for your path, you vvill walk into dangerous traps and pits that the enemy has set for your life. Some Christians only have the word in their heads but not in their hearts which is why they do not live by the word on a daily basis.

The Word is your lamp with hich vou can trace your steps, through the dangerous journey of life. The earlier you start meditating on the scripture the better it is for your destiny. We have a very subtle and wicked enemy who will not give himself any rest until he succeeds in diverting us trom the path God has set for us.

The Bible says in Psalm 1 19 vs. 30 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple”. There is more wisdom in the Bible than in any other literature in this world, the wisdom of the Bible is unsearchable and cannot be measured.

It you want to fulfil your divine destiny like Jesus did, let the word ot God lighten your path and guide you.

2 Timothy 3 vs. 16- 17 states “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man ofGod may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good work”.

The equipment received from Paul to Timothy in the above scripture is the light ot God-s word, because he knew without the word of God, Timothy would be lelt in darkness and would fail.

God does not want us to fail, that is why he has given us that eternal lamp to light up our paths in this dark world. When you let (God-s word lighten your lite and your path, you will then become a light to those around vou.
